Smartland Energy leadership recently visited Tazewell County, Virginia, to explore potential sites for future power infrastructure development. The visit marks another step in Smartland's broader strategy to expand dedicated, behind-the-meter power across geographies where buyer demand and site economics align.
During the visit, the Smartland team met with local officials and economic-development leaders to assess the county's infrastructure and discuss pathways for energy investment that align with local economic priorities.
As part of its national development strategy, Smartland Energy is focused on building dedicated power assets that support industrial growth, data infrastructure, and defense installations, with the same core operating principle across geographies: power generation must equal demand.
Tazewell County and Southwest Virginia sit inside the PJM footprint, with proximity to data-center growth corridors and access to natural-gas infrastructure. Smartland will continue evaluating opportunities in the region as part of its active development pipeline. See current initiatives →
