Smartland Energy Advances Site Evaluations in Eastern Ohio

← All Newsroom

Smartland Energy continued a series of site visits across Eastern Ohio, advancing our evaluation of potential development opportunities in one of the country's most energy-active regions.

The team visited multiple locations across the eastern corridor, assessing land characteristics, proximity to gas and transmission infrastructure, permitting considerations, and overall energy alignment. These visits are part of a broader strategy to identify build-ready sites that can support the next wave of dedicated, behind-the-meter power infrastructure.

Smartland's ongoing focus includes areas where legacy gas infrastructure intersects with modern grid challenges, creating conditions for scalable, modular, and behind-the-meter solutions that meet both reliability and resilience needs. Eastern Ohio in particular sits at the intersection of three procurement-relevant factors: existing gas pipelines, available industrial-zoned land, and energy-community bonus eligibility for federal credits.

For a buyer evaluating Mid-Atlantic or Midwest sites with 100 MW+ load and a 24-month-plus go-live window, Eastern Ohio is one of the geographies where Smartland's pipeline overlaps most directly with available capacity. Request capacity availability →
